Every mother knows that when you try to leave the house with a baby and go for a walk, you have to bring a lot of things for a newborn. The bottom of the stroller is full of toys, a blanket, clothes, stuff for changing diapers and for feeding the baby. You are trying to prepare for everything, even the impossible. But what would be really useful? Lottirose has great experience in traveling with kids. Now she shows you which things you need for a baby during sightseeing.
What do you need for a baby?
Having a baby changes everything, your life will never be the same. And traveling will never be the same either. Every family and baby has different needs. Some parents like to walk for hours, while others prefer to walk to the nearest cafe and stay long before they start again. Some babies like to play with a toy during the sightseeing, while others don’t care about baby items like this. There are mothers who are breastfeeding their children, and other babies need for formula. Some babies love to sleep a lot, while others don’t. The most important thing to do when sightseeing with a baby is to keep calm and don’t worry too much. Then you have to plan the sightseeing and create a list of baby essentials. What do newbie parents have to bring for a long sightseeing?
Baby essentials: things you need for a baby during sightseeing
In actuality, babies under the age of two really don’t need more than a few essentials, and hauling more gear than you need adds unnecessary stress. Don’t forget, less is more.
Weather can change at any time, perhaps it turns worse than when you started the sightseeing, and your baby needs extra clothes (a coat, a bonnet etc.) or just a blanket. You must prepare for the rain too, and bring a rain cover for the stroller.
Whether you’re traveling by plane, train, boat, or just go for a long walk, your baby will get bored. Make sure you bring toys and books — and use them. But we all know, a sleeping baby is the most ideal for a sightseeing, and it’s not just a dream. Do everything for your baby’s nap.
So get a stroller and a big bag for the baby toiletries and other things, then go!
Get ready for weather changes!
Always check out the weather forecast before you go for sightseeing. In Budapest the weather often changes, especially in spring and autumn. When it’s sunny, your baby needs a sun hat, a thin blanket, and a light stroller with a canopy. And don’t forget about the sunscreen, the weather can be misleading.
It’s a bit harder to pack, when the weather is cold because your baby needs a warmer blanket, a pullover, a coat, socks etc.
Time for naps – in the city
Napping on the go can be difficult, especially when there are so many new noises and sights to distract a baby. Choose the right stroller which is comfortable and have a lightweight black out shade.
A baby stroller is just one thing, several museums and tourist attractions don’t permit strollers. Having a baby carrier on hand is essential for those crowded, stroller-free environments. Renting a buckle carrier is a great option. If you’ll be doing a lot of walking and sightseeing during your trip, these carriers are wonderful for keeping the baby close to you while allowing you to keep your hands free.
Don’t forget to bring enough diapers, plastic bags for the used ones, diaper cream and disposable changing pads. Buy a big, waterproof diaper bag which can contain everything that you need for hygiene when you are on the road. Don’t you want to travel with a bunch of diapers? Ask for our quick help package from Lottirose! She places things in this package that would take up a lot of space in your luggage (and makes no sense) and you might need right upon arrival. You are free to choose from diapers, wet wipes, diaper cream, baby food and formula.
Essential baby item: the dummy
You can buy a lot of things for the baby, but please, don’t leave the dummy at home! 🙂 Dummy is a real jolly joker for babies. You can buy really beautiful dummy holders, it is the perfect pal for trips. Simply attach the holder to the baby’s clothes with the clip and then thread the cord through the pacifier to keep it nearby.
